Description
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is forecasting a funding opportunity for the establishment of the National Somatic Mosaicism Commons Data Analysis & Organizational Center as part of the Somatic Mosaicism across Human Tissues (SMaHT) Program. The Center will serve as a national hub responsible for integrating data management, complex data analysis, network governance, coordination, outreach, and training. Its primary goals are to develop and maintain tools and platforms—such as the SMaHT data portal, Variant Catalog, variant browser, and visualization tools—to enable both SMaHT Network members and the broader clinical and research communities to access and utilize multi-omic somatic mutation datasets. The Center will also conduct outreach and provide training in SMaHT resources, supporting research into the biological processes and disease mechanisms mediated by somatic mutations across human tissues.
