Description
The NIH Somatic Mosaicism across Human Tissues (SMaHT) Program will issue a funding opportunity to support a Tissue Procurement Center (TPC). The TPC will collect, process, store, and distribute well-characterized human tissue specimens to enable functional analyses and advance research into somatic mosaicism and its role in human biology and disease. Building on previous program stages, the TPC is expected to procure tissues from at least 50 additional healthy donors (for a total of 200) and up to 10 special tissue cohorts, including samples of high interest for somatic mosaicism studies, clinically relevant samples, and organs requiring special handling. The TPC will collaborate closely with other SMaHT Network initiatives to ensure sample utility for production-level assays.
