Description
The South Georgia Legacy Fund is the Community Foundation of South Georgia’s unrestricted fund supporting the changing needs of communities across South Georgia. It funds ongoing projects and programs that improve quality of life, along with capacity-building opportunities that strengthen nonprofits’ future sustainability. Grants may support ongoing administrative and infrastructure costs or maintain existing, effective programs.
The fund favors well-planned responses to community needs, backed by demonstrated support, committed leadership, and people with the skills to carry out the work. Organizations should connect proposed projects to their general operating budgets and explain how the work meets community needs without duplicating similar services. Requests for partial project support generally receive greater priority than requests relying on the foundation as the sole funding source.
