--- ## Description The South Georgia Legacy Fund, managed by the Community Foundation of South Georgia, aims to strengthen local nonprofits and enhance community vitality across South Georgia. The fund seeks proposals from organizations with well-planned approaches, demonstrated community support, committed leadership, and a focus on building capacity for future success and sustainability. Funding priorities include projects that are thoughtfully integrated into an organization’s operating budget and that address pressing local needs, without duplicating existing services. Grants may support ongoing programs, capacity building, and infrastructure or administrative costs. [View service area counties](https://cfsga.net/) (scroll to the Georgia map). - Exclusions: Funding is not available for capital campaigns, grants benefiting individuals, private foundations, fundraising or lobbying activities, advertising, sponsorships, debt retirement, events/receptions, replacement of government funding, or public agencies for mandated services. --- ## Application Process - Prepare an application letter (no more than two pages on letterhead, signed by an authorized officer) addressing: - Organization information (name, address, contact info, tax ID) - Mission, history, and programs - Description of the project/program or operations segment for funding - Funding amount requested and contingency plans if only partial funding is received - Project/program goals, measurable outcomes, and whether it is new or ongoing - Contact information for the primary contact person - Required attachments (as a single PDF): - Current IRS determination letter (501(c)(3) status) - Current annual operating budget - Project/program summary (revenue and expenses, if applicable) - Board of Directors list (with community/professional affiliations and contact info) - Most recent financial audit or IRS Form 990 - Submit the application package by email to Claire Bowen at cbowen@cfsga.net by the deadline. - Applications are reviewed for eligibility and completeness, then evaluated by the Grants Committee and Board of Directors.
