Description
The South Wayne Community Fund is a component fund of the Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin. Established in 1998 and also known as the South Wayne Area Community Fund, it enables current and former residents to make lasting charitable gifts to their community. Each year, a portion of the fund’s earnings is reinvested locally through grants responding to the community’s changing needs.
A volunteer advisory board awards grants once per year to nonprofit organizations, the local school district, and local government agencies providing charitable programs or projects serving South Wayne. Recent support has included school sound-system equipment, a weekend food program for Black Hawk students, and South Wayne Bites and Beats. The fund is one of 16 community funds overseen by the foundation across its nine-county service area.
