Summary: Supports development of critical space EEE components and resilient supply chains to reduce EU dependence on non-EU technologies.
Key Information: Participation is limited to legal entities established in EU Member States, Norway, and Iceland, with foreign-control restrictions.
The European Commission funds this Horizon Europe Research and Innovation Action to mature critical space EEE components and related technologies needed for EU space missions. The topic aims to secure unrestricted access, reduce non-EU dependencies across entire supply chains, and strengthen Europe's capacity to operate independently in space. Products and capabilities should match or exceed the performance of alternatives from outside the EU and create opportunities for manufacturers currently dependent on export-restricted technologies.
Projects should establish long-term sustainable supply chains, preferably entirely within the EU. Where missing EU capabilities make external services necessary, supply chains must remain trustworthy and unaffected by non-EU export controls, subject to granting-authority approval. Activities should encourage technology transfer and collaboration between European space and non-space industries and complement national and European space agency activities.
