Description
The Spark Award is an annual recognition presented by the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) to honor excellence in children’s books published through non-traditional publishing routes, such as self-publishing or independent presses. The award celebrates outstanding works that demonstrate high quality in writing, concept, illustrations, professional presentation, editing, and design. Winners receive a cash prize, Spark seals for their books, opportunities for professional development (such as teaching digital workshops), and increased visibility through features in the SCBWI online bookstore and social media channels. The Spark Award aims to elevate and acknowledge exceptional independently published children’s literature.
