Description

Spark Connecting Community is a Vermont Community Foundation program supporting emerging grassroots projects that strengthen community connections and build social capital. It supports local champions working collaboratively on projects where a small grant can make a meaningful difference. Projects may serve a single community, neighboring towns in the same region, or a regional or statewide community united by a shared identity or interest.

Priorities include expanding Vermonters’ access to opportunity, creating fully accessible opportunities for positive social interaction, fostering meaningful connections grounded in generosity, and encouraging environmental stewardship and respect. Examples include experiential learning connecting students with residents, community-created public art, nature trails, and community diversity events and dialogue. The program emphasizes engagement and connections among people who might not otherwise cross paths.
