Description
The San Antonio Area Foundation’s Special and Urgent Needs program provides rapid-response support to nonprofits facing unexpected challenges that threaten service delivery or unforeseen opportunities to expand services. It addresses urgent, unbudgeted needs critical to operations that could prevent an organization from fulfilling its mission when other funding sources are unavailable.
Support covers community crises, operational emergencies, and unplanned opportunities. Examples include damage from extreme weather, vandalism or theft, sudden failure of essential equipment, and emergency leadership transitions. Funding can also help organizations leverage unexpected financial or property gifts that require unplanned expenditures. The program is intended for circumstances that could not have been anticipated, rather than routine operating needs or replacement of lost funding.
