Description
The Texas State Library and Archives Commission (TSLAC) funds Special Projects that significantly expand library services to include more members of a library’s community, particularly people who face barriers to accessing the library and its resources. Projects may develop programs for people with special needs or difficulty using the library, but must emphasize improved services by the library to its patrons.
Community engagement and collaboration with other community organizations are strongly encouraged; collaborative projects receive priority in review. Proposed programs must address the applicable goals in TSLAC’s 2023–2027 Library Services and Technology Act plan, which cover digital access, literacy and educational attainment, and library services responsive to community needs. The program is not intended for digitization or projects primarily focused on acquiring library materials or resources.
