Description
The Specialized Center of Research (SCOR) program, administered by Blood Cancer United, formerly the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, supports established investigators working across disciplines at one or several institutions. It funds integrated basic, translational, and clinical research to improve the treatment, diagnosis, or prevention of hematological malignancies and relevant premalignant conditions. Projects and supporting Cores must demonstrate interdisciplinary collaboration and synergy, with a clear bench-to-bedside trajectory. A clinical trial alone does not satisfy this requirement: clinical work must extend and interact substantively with basic or early translational research.
For the 2026–2027 cycle, the program anticipates two awards: one for Myelodysplastic Syndromes, in partnership with the Edward P. Evans Foundation, and one for T-Cell Lymphoma, Myeloproliferative Neoplasms, Multiple Myeloma, or Pediatric Leukemia. Other blood cancer proposals may be considered if highly innovative, responsive, competitive, and compelling.
