Description
The Specialty Crop Block Grant Program (SCBGP), administered by the Mississippi Department of Agriculture & Commerce (MDAC) and funded by the USDA, is designed to enhance the competitiveness of Mississippi-grown specialty crops. The program supports research, marketing, education, food safety, and other initiatives that benefit the specialty crop industry at large, rather than individual producers or businesses. Eligible projects must demonstrate measurable outcomes that improve the market position, production, distribution, or consumption of specialty crops such as fruits, vegetables, tree nuts, dried fruits, horticulture, and nursery crops (including floriculture).
