Description
The Ohio Department of Agriculture administers this USDA Agricultural Marketing Service–funded program for projects that enhance the competitiveness of Ohio specialty crops. These include fruits, vegetables, tree nuts, dried fruits, and horticulture and nursery crops, including floriculture. Projects may address marketing, producer research and development, access to specialty crops, or challenges facing producers.
The program seeks benefits for the specialty crop industry rather than a particular commercial product or a single organization or individual. Ohio considers stakeholder perspectives on industry needs, challenges, and opportunities when developing program priorities. Proposed projects must identify measurable results.
