Description
The Oregon Department of Agriculture (ODA) administers this annual competitive program using funding from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). It supports projects that improve the production and competitiveness of Oregon specialty crops in domestic or foreign markets. Eligible crops include fruits, vegetables, tree nuts, dried fruits, Christmas trees, turf-type grasses, and nursery crops, including floriculture and horticulture.
The program supports industry-wide work rather than projects providing profit or direct benefits solely to one entity. Its funding priorities encompass marketing and promotion, producer research and development, expanded access and availability, and responses to challenges facing specialty crop producers.
