The Fisheries Society of the British Isles (FSBI) offers sponsorship for events, activities and other initiatives that support or promote its objectives in fish biology and fisheries science. Supported activities can include workshops, small meetings, scientific sessions at conferences and symposia. The scheme also considers initiatives beyond scientific meetings, such as the Society’s sponsorship of the award-winning documentary “Secret Life of Basking Sharks” in 2021.
This sponsorship scheme is distinct from FSBI’s funding for individual research, travel, training and outreach, which is provided through separate grants. FSBI is a UK-registered charity affiliated to the Royal Society of Biology, with its council serving as charity trustees.
