Sponsorship Program
The Sponsorship Program supports organizations hosting events that build watershed awareness, encourage environmentally protective behavior, or promote the Chesapeake Bay Trust’s mission and revenue programs.
Funder: Chesapeake Bay Trust
Due Dates: Rolling (until fiscal-year funds are exhausted) | At least six weeks before project start (submission requirement)
Funding Amounts: Generally $500 for programmatic support; $250–$500 for marketing support; projects completed within 12 months
Summary: Supports events that advance Chesapeake and Maryland watershed protection through public awareness, behavior change, or promotion of the Trust’s mission and revenue programs.
Key Information: Events must serve a Maryland audience, even when located elsewhere in the Chesapeake Bay watershed.
Description
The Chesapeake Bay Trust’s Sponsorship Program supports conferences, festivals, forums, and other events with programmatic or marketing value. Programmatic events increase awareness of restoration and protection issues affecting the Chesapeake and Maryland’s other watersheds, or provide tools and resources that help participants change behavior to protect natural resources. Examples include conferences on water quality, habitat, and green space, and forums exploring restoration solutions.
Marketing sponsorships expand awareness of the Trust’s mission and impact or engage audiences likely to support its revenue programs. The Trust generally sponsors events intended for at least 100 people. It strongly encourages applications from communities underrepresented in environmental work and events engaging those communities. New applicants, small organizations, and groups facing capacity barriers can receive application guidance.
