Description
The American Kennel Club (AKC) and the AKC Canine Health Foundation jointly support residency training for veterinarians seeking board certification through the American College of Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation (ACVSMR). The program invests in future specialists serving canine athletes, working dogs, and all dogs needing rehabilitation.
Priorities include canine health and fitness, injury prevention, post-surgical recovery, and improved quality of life for dogs with degenerative diseases, including arthritis and neurological impairments. Faculty mentors provide clinical training, didactic education, and research opportunities that foster evidence-based medicine.
