Description
Wisconsin Humanities is the state’s nonprofit humanities council. Its grants support community-led public programs that use history, culture, literature, philosophy, and civic discussion to strengthen community life in Wisconsin. Funded work can include exhibitions, performances, storytelling, discussions, oral histories, workshops, and digital humanities projects. Projects must engage the public rather than be strictly academic or archival.
The Spring 2026 round welcomed all eligible proposals and identified two priorities: “Wisconsin and America at 250,” for projects exploring the complexity of state and national history and encouraging civic participation; and “Converse + Connect,” for projects bringing people together around topics of community and civic interest.
