    Description

Spring Writers 2027 is a 12-day, self-directed literary residency at Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity in Banff, Alberta. It gives emerging and established writers time and space to advance a specific project or create new work in any genre. Participants receive private writing studios in historic Vinci Hall, alongside shared spaces for conversation, informal feedback, and peer connection.

Each writer is paired with Heather O’Neill, Stuart Ross, or Anakana Schofield for weekly one-on-one consultations. Participants can also meet guest speaker Katy Bohinc of Tender Buttons Press. Optional faculty talks, Q&As, public readings, social receptions, and campus events complement independent writing. The program suits writers comfortable shaping their own time and balancing solitude, mentorship, and community.
