The Community Foundation of the Ozarks (CFO) and its Springfield Youth Empowerment Project (YEP) chapter support projects that improve young people’s lives in the Springfield area. The 2026–2027 program focuses on opportunities for youth to learn, grow, connect, and thrive, including programs for young people facing barriers or challenges.
Potential projects include mentoring and leadership, academic enrichment and tutoring, mental health and wellness, recreation, and arts. The program also supports opportunities for young people to connect with others, contribute, and make a positive impact in their community. Alongside this grantmaking, the Springfield YEP chapter gives junior and senior high school students opportunities to learn about philanthropy, volunteer, and help decide how local grants are awarded.
