Description
The Springs and Watershed Restoration Program is administered by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s Division of Water Restoration Assistance. It supports land acquisition to protect springs and capital projects that protect the quality and quantity of water flowing from springs. The program works closely with water management districts, local governments and other stakeholders to identify and implement projects that achieve restoration goals.
The program connects project identification with implementation through collaboration between the department and its partners. Information about springs project selection is provided through Protecting Florida Together’s Water Quality & Supply Grants resources. The department also maintains a GIS viewer documenting funded springs projects from fiscal year 2013–2014 through fiscal year 2025–2026.
