SRSF Mentored Collaboration Grant supports early-career sleep and circadian researchers with travel for hands-on mentorship and collaborative research products to grow the field through training.
Funder: Sleep Research Society Foundation
Due Dates: October 16, 2026 (Application closing deadline)
Funding Amounts: Up to $3,500 per award for one year; up to two awards annually
Summary: Supports travel for early-career sleep and circadian researchers to receive in-person mentorship and develop collaborative research products.
Key Information: Both mentee and mentor must remain active SRS members in good standing.
The Sleep Research Society Foundation’s Mentored Collaboration Grant connects early-stage sleep and circadian researchers with mentors who can provide hands-on training in state-of-the-art research techniques and methods. It is intended for researchers with limited mentoring options in their chosen field who wish to expand or pivot their training through opportunities unavailable at their current institution. Collaborations may take place in the United States or abroad.
The program supports travel-related expenses for an in-person mentoring experience, followed by continued phone or web-based contact during the funded year. Mentor–mentee pairs are expected to develop a collaborative research product, such as an abstract for the SLEEP Meeting, a manuscript, or a grant proposal. The goal is to grow the field through training and mentorship early in researchers’ careers.
