Description
The Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract (SSAT) supports innovative, high-impact research that strengthens global collaboration and improves patient care in alimentary tract surgery. The program funds gastrointestinal surgery projects focused on clinical research, quality improvement, educational innovation, or translational research, with benefits intended to extend within SSAT international chapters and beyond.
Projects may be conducted independently within an international chapter outside the United States or collaboratively between a U.S. center and one or more international chapters. The grants support new, original work rather than supplementing studies that already have funding. Collaborative projects may use funding for reciprocal site visits between participating institutions. Awardees are expected to share their results through presentation at Digestive Disease Week and manuscript submission to the Journal of Gastrointestinal Surgery.
