The Society for Simulation in Healthcare’s Early Career Mentored Research Award supports new investigators and research initiatives in healthcare simulation. Established by the SSH Research Committee in 2013 and supported by the SSH Fund, the program seeks methodologically sound studies using quantitative, qualitative, or mixed-method approaches. It encourages innovative research with strong potential to benefit the simulation field and considers the potential impact on the applicant’s career.
Research priorities address simulation realism and resource use, fidelity, team learning, training frequency, assessment, simulated participants, emerging technologies, in situ simulation, extended reality, and debriefing. Funding is not limited to these priorities: the Committee also considers high-quality proposals that advance theoretical and applied knowledge in healthcare simulation.
