Description
The SSHRC Talent Award recognizes outstanding achievement, academic excellence, talent for research and knowledge mobilization, and potential for future leadership within or outside academia. It is part of SSHRC’s Impact Awards, which celebrate research achievements, research training, knowledge mobilization, and outreach in the social sciences and humanities funded partially or entirely by SSHRC. UBC’s Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies coordinates the university’s nomination process.
The award combines individual recognition with support for continued research and communication of that work. Recipients may take it as a fellowship for doctoral or postdoctoral research or use it as a grant for research, knowledge mobilization, or other research-related activities. A portion must support promotion of the recipient’s research achievements.
