The BrightFocus Foundation’s Standard Awards, part of its Alzheimer’s Disease Research initiative, fund pioneering and high-risk projects that aim to significantly advance the understanding, prevention, or treatment of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias (ADRD). The program is structured into two tracks—Early Career Investigator and Independent Investigator—encouraging bold, creative, and cross-disciplinary research, including from those outside the traditional Alzheimer’s research field. The Foundation emphasizes diversity and inclusivity, actively encouraging applications from researchers from underrepresented backgrounds and those proposing innovative approaches that may not be funded elsewhere.
