The European Commission’s Directorate-General for Migration and Home Affairs (DG HOME) manages this Internal Security Fund opportunity under the Digital Investigations and Standardisation call. It supports standards that improve law enforcement and judicial authorities’ operational capacity, contribute to implementing EU law, and enable cross-border cooperation with private entities. Projects should deliver concrete standards supporting digital investigations and lawful access to data.
Relevant work includes identifying standardisation needs, developing standards for 6G and internet-based communications, digital and vehicle forensics, and artificial intelligence. Funding also supports practitioner participation, pooled Member State resources, studies, advice and training developed with the European Cybercrime Training and Education Group where relevant. Intended outcomes include stronger practitioner contributions, stakeholder synergies and sustainable mechanisms for an EU approach to standardisation.
