artsCatalyst Grants support interdisciplinary arts experiences in Stanford undergraduate courses. Administered by the Stanford Arts Institute, the program prioritizes pedagogically well-integrated activities, particularly in non-arts departments. Supported experiences include course-based creative projects, guest artist workshops, performances, film screenings, and museum visits. Arts disciplines include visual art, creative writing, dance, design, digital media, film and television, music, theater, and traditional craft.
In 2026–27, a collaboration with the Center for Just Environmental Futures at the Doerr School provides additional funding for courses in any department exploring sustainability through art and creative practice. Examples include research-based performances, music, poetry, and interactive or immersive installations that reimagine possibilities for sustainable living.
