Stanford University’s King Center on Global Development supports capacity-building and policy-engagement activities benefiting low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). The program helps researchers and research institutions conduct, interpret, and use rigorous research on global development. It also strengthens policymakers’, practitioners’, and other research users’ ability to interpret evidence and translate it into policy and practice.
Supported activities include collaboration with policy, practice, or research partners; dissemination through policy briefs and other materials; and workshops or training, including at local universities and government ministries. Activities may take place in LMICs, at Stanford, or elsewhere, provided they benefit research capacity or evidence use in LMICs. Funding can support stand-alone activities or additions to existing research projects or trips, but not new research or data collection.
