The Stanford Doerr Discovery Grants are designed to support fundamental, inquiry-driven research across all topical areas within the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability (SDSS). These grants prioritize innovative and creative projects that advance knowledge in Earth, life (biological and societal), and engineered systems, particularly those considered too risky or unconventional for traditional funding sources. The program seeks "blue sky" research that does not align with solution-oriented or applied research initiatives, focusing instead on projects that push disciplinary boundaries and foster groundbreaking discoveries.
