The Stanford Humanities Center’s Internal Faculty Fellowships support scholarly research during a full academic year in residence. Funded through a combination of Center and School of Humanities and Sciences (H&S) resources, the program brings together Stanford scholars from diverse roles, ranks, experiences, and perspectives. It supports traditional and emergent humanities disciplines and the interpretive social sciences, including digital humanities in partnership with the Center for Spatial and Textual Analysis. Creative arts projects are not eligible.
The fellowship combines sustained research with participation in an interdisciplinary intellectual community. Selection emphasizes the promise of the proposed project, its interest across humanities fields, and the originality and intellectual distinction of previous work. Regular lunches and weekly research presentations provide opportunities for collegial exchange throughout Autumn, Winter, and Spring Quarters.
