    Description

The Stanford Humanities Center’s International Visitors Program supports innovative research with a global reach by bringing international experts in the humanities, arts, and social sciences into the Stanford community. Its monthlong residencies provide time to write, pursue research, exchange ideas, and develop ongoing intellectual collaborations with Stanford colleagues working in similar fields or on complementary projects.

Visitors share their research through scholarly presentations, workshops, and informal conversations with campus and wider audiences. They gain access to the Center’s interdisciplinary community of fellows, Stanford libraries and archives, and campus programming. Activities may include guest lectures, public talks, research workshops, and joint projects with Stanford colleagues. Since 2009, the program has hosted more than ninety academics, journalists, public intellectuals, and artists from around the world.
