The Stanford King Center on Global Development funds capacity-building and policy-engagement activities that benefit low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). The program helps researchers and research institutions conduct, interpret, and use rigorous research relevant to global development. It also supports policymakers, practitioners, and other research users in translating evidence into policy and practice.
Supported activities include collaboration with policy, practice, or research partners; dissemination through policy briefs and other materials; and workshops or training at universities, government ministries, and other institutions. Activities may take place in LMICs, at Stanford, or elsewhere, provided they benefit research capacity or evidence use in LMICs. Funding supports stand-alone activities or additions to existing projects or trips, rather than new research or standard research costs.
