    Description

The Stanford Visiting Artist Fund brings artists to Stanford to advance artistic excellence, interdisciplinary collaboration, and an integrative educational experience. Created in honor of Roberta Bowman Denning and administered by the Office of the Vice President for the Arts, the fund supports residencies that benefit both the artist and the Stanford community, with an emphasis on reaching beyond the host department.

The program encourages proposals involving two or more departments or programs, particularly work addressing contemporary concerns such as racial and social justice, environmental sustainability, ethical technology, and health and wellbeing. Residencies combine collaboration with faculty, courses or workshops with students, and public presentations of artists’ work in a virtual forum.
