Description
This program is designed to help Danish universities and research institutions attract and recruit top researchers from any nationality by providing substantial funding for the establishment of independent research groups. The grant aims to enhance the competitiveness of Danish institutions during faculty recruitment and contract negotiations, and to increase researcher mobility both internationally and within Denmark, including transitions from industry to academia.
Supported research areas include medical sciences, life sciences, sustainability, and natural and technical sciences, with a focus on fields aligned with the Novo Nordisk Foundation’s 2030 Strategy. These include cardiometabolic disease prevention, infectious disease management, regenerative medicine, health equity, sustainable agriculture and food, climate change mitigation, green transition, and interdisciplinary or technology-driven research with applications in health or sustainability.
