Description
This scheme supports early-career clinical lecturers in the UK to establish their independent research careers. The grant provides up to £40,000 over one to two years to fund research costs, enabling recipients to generate preliminary data and strengthen applications for subsequent fellowships or larger research grants. Awardees also benefit from mentoring and professional development opportunities through the Academy of Medical Sciences, helping them build their profile as independent investigators. The scheme is delivered in partnership with leading UK medical research funders, including the British Heart Foundation.
