Description
The Criminal Justice Coordinating Council (CJCC) administers this program through Georgia State Appropriations, providing fiscal and programmatic oversight of funding for child abuse programs. It supports intervention services for child abuse victims alongside awareness and education intended to change community attitudes and advance prevention across Georgia.
Core services include advocacy and crisis intervention, emergency financial assistance, follow-up contact and exams, legal advocacy, medical accompaniment, and assistance with Victims Compensation. Specialized services include medical forensic examinations and interviews, support groups, individual and family therapy, resource referrals, and prevention using an evidence-based curriculum. Education and awareness activities may include training, presentations, technical assistance, community outreach, direct service, and collaboration.
