    Description

The North Carolina Governor's Crime Commission (GCC) administers state and federal grants for North Carolina law enforcement agencies, governmental bodies, and nonprofit organizations. Its portfolio supports criminal justice improvement, crime victim services, and juvenile justice, including services for crime victims, rehabilitation of juvenile offenders, and law enforcement initiatives such as training, mental-health intervention, and equipment.

The commission is the chief advisory body to the Governor and Secretary of the Department of Public Safety on crime and justice issues. It also serves as the State Administering Agency for federal criminal justice funding from the U.S. Department of Justice. Funding priorities and award selection are determined annually. GCC's annual grant-writing workshops cover those priorities, eligibility, supporting documentation, and use of the EBS Grants Management Platform.
