The State-Local Partner Mentorship (SLP-M) program, administered by the California Arts Council, funds existing State-Local Partners to mentor and facilitate the establishment of new county-designated local arts agencies in Glenn and Kings counties—counties currently without such agencies. The aim is to foster sustainable local arts infrastructure, with the expectation that a functioning local arts agency will be established in each county within 2–3 years. Grantees support new agencies through their first two years of operations, after which the new agencies may independently apply for State-Local Partner grants. Funding may be renewed for up to three years to ensure successful establishment and operation.
