Description
The California Arts Council’s State-Local Partners program provides general operating support and technical assistance to official county-designated local arts agencies. These agencies serve individuals and communities throughout an entire county, providing financial support, services, and programming for arts organizations, individual artists, and the broader community.
The program fosters local cultural development through a partnership between California and its counties that combines funding, information exchange, cooperative activities, and leadership. Its goal is to enable communities to create, present, and preserve the arts of all cultures and enrich Californians’ quality of life. Partners also facilitate countywide Poetry Out Loud programming and prioritize historically under-resourced communities, especially those in the lower quartiles of the California Healthy Places Index.
