Description
The Arkansas Division of Emergency Management runs this state program to help local jurisdictions address repetitive disaster losses. It supports permanent, long-term solutions that reduce risks to people, property, and infrastructure from natural hazards, rather than maintenance or repairs that leave the underlying problem in place.
Examples include elevated bridges replacing low-water crossings or existing bridges, new or enlarged culverts, warning sirens, and retrofits to protect critical infrastructure. Soil stabilization, generators for critical facilities, retention and detention basins, and earthquake shut-off valves are also among the eligible project examples.
