Description
The Homeland Security Grant Program (HSGP) provides federal U.S. Department of Homeland Security funding to strengthen preparedness for terrorism and other threats. Nevada’s Office of Emergency Management / Homeland Security administers the funds as the State Administrative Agency. The program supports state, local, tribal, and territorial preparedness efforts, providing resources to implement the National Preparedness System and advance the National Preparedness Goal of a secure and resilient nation.
Nevada’s preparedness grant administration supports equipment, planning, training, exercises, and management and administrative work. The State Homeland Security Program (SHSP) component funds development and implementation of State Homeland Security Strategies. These strategies are risk-based and capabilities-focused, with projects directed toward achieving specific capability targets and building or sustaining preparedness capabilities.
