Description
The Massachusetts Office of Grants and Research (OGR) administers this competitive program using federal funds from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. It supports measurable improvements to the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, uniformity, accessibility, or integration of data in the state’s core highway safety databases: crash, citation and adjudication, driver, emergency medical services and injury surveillance, roadway, and vehicle records.
Supported work includes software and equipment for collecting and reporting data, interoperability with other data systems, crash-trend analysis, traffic records training and staffing, improved crash and emerging-topic reporting criteria, and research on traffic safety information systems. Massachusetts’ Traffic Records Coordinating Committee helps OGR identify projects and guide traffic records improvements.
