Description
Homes and Community Renewal’s Housing Trust Fund Corporation (HTFC) funds subrecipients to provide weatherization and electrification to Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP)-eligible households in New York. Projects may serve single-family homes or multifamily properties, including government-assisted housing, public housing, and housing for people with special needs. Funds may support standalone projects or be combined with specified WAP funds.
Work includes assessing energy efficiency, installing cost-effective energy-saving measures and clean heat upgrades such as heat pumps, and addressing related health and safety concerns. The program also calls for outreach in areas with limited weatherization services. Subrecipients must prioritize households with older adults, children, or people whose disabilities or medical conditions may be helped by weatherization; HEAP recipients, particularly those with extremely high energy use; and properties with an existing State or City housing-agency regulatory agreement.
