Description
Texas Parks & Wildlife Department (TPWD) administers State Wildlife Grants in Texas to implement the State Wildlife Action Plan. The federal program supports proactive conservation of rare or declining fish and wildlife, with funding directed toward protecting and managing Species of Greatest Conservation Need identified in the plan. TPWD seeks cooperative projects that address its conservation questions and produce results useful for species management.
The Wildlife Division’s published topics cover black-spotted newt activity, Brazos watersnake reintroduction, Tamaulipan spot-tailed earless lizard surveys, and mountain plover breeding populations and habitat.
