Description
The North Dakota Community Foundation’s Statewide Greatest Needs Grant Program supports community programs and projects across North Dakota and contiguous areas. It has no narrow subject focus: the Foundation’s Board considers each project on its merits, emphasizing organizations with limited access to other funding. The program seeks to distribute support as equitably as practical among the state’s geographic regions.
The Board considers local involvement, the number of people served, and community impact. It also examines whether a project complements or duplicates other organizations’ work, whether funding could attract additional support, and whether the Foundation’s contribution would meaningfully affect the project’s success. Projects substantially supported by government, national organizations, and organizations with substantial annual fundraising receive lower priority.
