Description
Wisconsin’s Statewide Transit Planning Program, also known as Section 5304, supports local and regional studies and plans related to public transportation. The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) administers the program through its Public and Specialized Transit Section. It is intended to help eligible organizations examine transit needs and plan services, rather than fund transit operations or construction.
Eligible studies support balanced, comprehensive transportation planning that considers the relationship between land use and all transportation modes. Local government authorities and public transportation operators may also request support for eligible training expenses.
