Description
Stead Innovation Scholars is a University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine program that recognizes and advances outstanding early-career investigators. It supports faculty who are becoming internationally recognized leaders in their fields, providing research funding to pursue new, unexplored ideas that promise consequential discoveries. The program pairs recognition of investigators’ achievements with support for their future research directions.
Alongside research support, scholars receive leadership and communication training organized through the Carver College of Medicine and/or the University of Iowa. They also present at the Stead Innovation Scholar forum during their years of financial support. These activities complement the program’s emphasis on innovation, research leadership, and professional development.
