Description
The Phyllis Steckel Diversity Academic Scholarship, administered by the Association of Engineering Geologists Foundation, supports undergraduate students pursuing academic study in the geosciences. It is intended for students with Black, Hispanic or Latino/a, Pacific Islander, and/or American Indian/Alaska Native personal heritage. Eligible fields include geology, geophysics, Earth and planetary sciences, and related geoscience subjects.
The scholarship recognizes leadership abilities or experience and the potential to contribute to the geosciences profession. Its focus is academic development and professional promise rather than funding a specified research investigation. Awards support recipients’ tuition or geoscience laboratory fees.
