Description
The Association for Iron and Steel Technology (AIST) Foundation’s Steel Intern Scholarships connect university study with paid summer experience at North American steel-producing and steel-related companies. The program supports students interested in iron and steel careers, with an emphasis on their professional goals and how their skills could enhance the industry. Scholarship funding follows the summer internship and supports one academic year.
AIST helps selected recipients find placements aligned with their interests and location preferences. Students may also arrange an approved internship or co-op with a steel producer or industry supplier. The internship offers opportunities to apply classroom knowledge, work on projects in a field of interest, and meet experienced mentors. The highest-scoring applicant receives the Premier Intern Scholarship.
