Description
The STEM Competition Grant is funded by the Utah Department of Cultural and Community Engagement and administered by the STEM Action Center. It supports Utah students in grades K–12 participating in STEM competitions and replaces the former Fairs, Camp, and Competitions Grant. Its goal is to improve students’ understanding and learning experiences in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
The program funds competitions that provide meaningful STEM opportunities. Previously supported events include state and regional STEM Olympiads, VEX and FIRST Robotics competitions, state and regional science and engineering fairs, math contests, and coding competitions. These examples are not exhaustive; the STEM Action Center reserves the right to determine which competitions qualify. Support focuses on competition participation rather than unrelated activities or general equipment purchases.
